Valley doesn’t just care about our members. Valley cares for kids. We are committed to empowering kids and enriching their minds in a wide range of ways and age groups. Explore all we’re doing to support youth in our communities.
Ages 12 and Under
MoneyIsland is a fun-filled online world where kids learn to become "financial gurus." Parents and teachers gain peace of mind by providing their kids with the tools they need to live a financially healthy life. All for FREE.
Kids can even earn real-life rewards as they go on fantastic quests to places like Atlantis and the Eiffel Tower. Kids can play at home or entire classrooms can embark on the quests together. On the surface they're having fun. More importantly they are learning valuable financial skills that will last a lifetime.
Miles Ave School Reading Tutor Program
Every year Valley volunteers help tutor reading at Miles Avenue School in Billings. To further encourage young readers, we provide them with fun and inspiring tools that can be used throughout the year at home, as well as at school. We also participate in their annual school carnival, Spelling Bee and other school year activities. We are proud to partner with Miles Avenue School and help shape the growing minds of our youth.
Ages 13 – 18
Financial Literacy Classes
Throughout the school year Valley presents student courses on the importance of saving, spending and investing. Valley also places emphasis on understanding what a credit score is, what it means and much more!
Alberta Bair Education Series
Valley has been a proud sponsor for the ABT Education Series for over four years. During the school year, ABT presents specially designed matinees for students and schools at discounted prices. All of the performances are one-hour (except the Opera) and represent a global spectrum of cultural art forms. Each show is recommended for certain grade levels from pre-kindergarten to grade 12. The ABT welcomes all public, private and home schools – as well as the general public – to their student matinee performances. Each performance has a study guide, available on their website, with specific program information, discussion questions and activities to enhance everyone’s experience at the theater. We encourage students and teachers to fill out an evaluation form (which is part of the study guide) to share their experiences with ABT and provide valuable feedback for improving the arts education programs. Valley is proud to encourage young readers of all ages. In an effort to not only support reading but also make covering those textbooks a bit easier, Valley distributed 20,000 book covers to schools in our communities for the 2016-2017 school year.
Part of supporting our community’s kids is also supporting organizations that share in commitment to our area youth. ZooMontana is one such organization and we are proud to be the primary sponsor for their bison exhibit! Learn more about all ZooMontana offers.
