We are thrilled to announce that, in collaboration with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, we have awarded significant Member Impact Fund grants to three outstanding organizations. These grants, totaling $40,000, will support essential community development initiatives and enhance the quality of life for many. Here’s a closer look at each of the organizations and the incredible work they are doing:

United Way of Yellowstone County

We are honored to present a $20,000 Member Impact Fund grant to the United Way of Yellowstone County. This grant will bolster their community development initiatives, focusing on creating opportunities and providing essential services to those in need. The United Way of Yellowstone County has a long-standing commitment to improving lives by mobilizing the caring power of the community. This grant will help them continue their mission of addressing critical issues and fostering positive change.

Billings Family YMCA

Valley Credit Union and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines are proud to support the Billings Family YMCA with a $10,000 Member Impact Fund grant. This funding will aid in the creation of a new Y Teen Center, a vital space designed to offer alternative activities for teens during out-of-school hours. Kim Kaiser, the CEO of Billings Family YMCA, expressed their gratitude, stating, "We continue to improve on existing programs and create new innovative programs to best serve our members and the community. We are thankful for the grant funding from FHLB of Des Moines and Valley Credit Union that allows us to create a safe space that offers alternative activities for teens during out-of-school time where they gain experience, grow, and thrive."

The new Y Teen Center aims to provide a safe and supportive environment where teens can engage in positive activities, gain valuable experiences, and build skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. This initiative is a testament to the YMCA’s dedication to nurturing the potential of youth and fostering a sense of community.

The Red Lodge Area Community Foundation

Lastly, we are delighted to present a $10,000 Member Impact Fund grant to The Red Lodge Area Community Foundation in support of their Carbon County Area Ride & Transit (CART) Program. CART is a transportation system designed to offer safe, reliable rides to individuals throughout Carbon County, especially those without access to a vehicle or the ability to drive themselves. The service covers various essential trips, including medical appointments, grocery shopping, and social gatherings, without any expectation of payment from the users.

The CART Program is a vital resource for many community members, ensuring they can access necessary services and maintain their independence. The Red Lodge Area Community Foundation’s commitment to providing this service highlights the importance of community support and the impact it can have on individuals' lives.
